We have accomplished material handling projects for coal fired power generation facilities. In addition, we have erecting entire synthetic and alternate fuels power generation plants. We have provided construction services to the Power Generation sector for all of the disciplines we self-perform; civil/foundation work, piping construction, steel erection, and equipment setting. We have provided crane/rigging services, from the large fleet of cranes we own, to support the completion of Power Generation projects we have executed.

Description: Renovation and retrofit of existing coal plant to burn renewable fuel
Project: IIC renovated and upgraded a existing coal power plant in Lumberton, NC to a renewable fuel plant that ran off a biomass/wood mixture. The scope of work included a new fuel feed conveyor system, a new fuel storage building, and refurbishment of existing plant including the cooling tower, existing conveyors, both boilers, bins, ash system, ID fans, baghouse, and stack. IIC was in charge of one subcontractor Steam & Control Systems (SCS) that did all boiler maintenance. VE options on this project included purchasing existing conveyors and fixing and refabricating the conveyors to fit the project.
